PTOLEMY (pronounced TALL-UH-ME) Claudius Ptolemy was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 87 A.D. He was a mathematician and astronomer. He believed the order of the planets was Earth in the center then Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. He created his own order of the planets called the Ptolemaic System. |
